YWCA wants to grow the list of the next female leaders and help them to gain leadership skills. Those nominated for this title could earn scholarships for $1200 to $8000. These scholarships are both for 4 years. Teachers can pick a student to nominate that shows promise and positive examples. When nominated, there are 2 people from the YWCA board that pick a winner after an interviewing process. Nominees can win a scholarship out of the tri-county area.
There was a breakfast on March 28th that Abigail Bueno, and her family attended with Mr. Vega, Mr. Baker and Mrs. Downs.
Abigail Bueno organized a canned food drive and she said, “Our students have really stepped up this year. It’s been amazing to watch our school come together to support families in our community! Every donation has truly made a difference.”
Regarding he interview process, Bueno said, “ The Women With a Bright Future interview process has also been going well.
She has been preparing and working on highlighting her leadership experiences and community involvement, and she’s excited for the opportunity.
