Key Club brought spring spirit to life with its annual Easter egg hunt for the elementary school, giving kids and volunteers an eventful day of excitement and community fun. Key Club members volunteered their time to organize the hunt, set up activities, and ensure everything ran smoothly. In addition to the egg hunt, participants enjoyed games, prizes, and time with friends, making the day more memorable.
Abbey Fishtorn is the adviser of the Key Club. As with any other events there will always be challenges, Mrs. Fishtorn says that her biggest challenge this year was hoping for the good weather, “Some years it’s really cold, some really windy. So adjusting for weather is always our biggest challenge.”
This year’s egg hunt was very windy and warm, but it just made it better for the kids to chase after those eggs! Overall, the event was a success and continued a meaningful tradition of service. The Key Club members were such a help for this event, they took the time to get the eggs ready and took time out of their busy schedules to make sure the kids are having a fun day.
Fishtorn says, “Members have to stuff the eggs, and help distribute and collect them on egg hunt day. We also need a member to be the Easter Bunny.” Setting up takes awhile but it is a great event for members to get together and spend time with each other. Events like this not only brings smiles to the younger students but also allows Key Club members to build connections, create lasting memories, and make a positive impact in our community.
