Jackson-Milton High School is beginning a new tradition this year with the creation of its very first dance line team. After recently holding tryouts, the dancers are preparing to start their first official season and represent the school at athletic events and performances throughout the year. The team practices at Jackson-Milton High School in North Jackson, Ohio, and members are excited to be part of a program that has never existed before.
The dance line was created to give students another opportunity to become involved in school activities while also bringing more spirit and entertainment to the school community. Tryouts were held earlier this month, and students worked hard to learn routines, improve their skills, and earn a position on the inaugural team. Since this is the first season, the team does not yet have a record or competition scores, but members are focused on building teamwork and setting a strong foundation for future dancers. The dance line is to encourage the crowd and add more of a spunk to the marching band’s half time performance.
The dancers got their results for their tryouts in the beginning of May and got to start the new season early. The judges of the tryouts were alumni dancers or majorettes teachers from our school. The JM Danceline will only take place in the fall for football season then, during their off season they will have try outs again for the next incoming season. The dance line team hopes to have a successful year in their 2026-2027 season and are already working hard to get their routine to be perfected by this incoming football season.
