WFLK media and the announcements are done by the digital media class. It is run by Mr. Jackson and it is a really fun class where they get to make commercials, intriguing social media posts about upcoming school events, and so much more fun and exciting things. They make the school announcement videos and also a fun little video every Friday talking about the events that are happened during the week and also the events that are coming up in the following weeks. This class also includes learning new software programs such as Adobe products.

Mr. Jackson states, “The goals for this year were to have the students learn Adobe products such as Premiere Pro (Video Editing), Photoshop, and we did some small animations using Animate. I wanted students to learn a few different programs and become well-versed in editing photography and video.”

The students have a fun time trying to use and learn these tools.

For example, Tiffany Tingler, a senior in the class, states, “The main software we work with is Adobe. I do not think I have mastered it quite yet, but I know how to use it pretty well and keep learning how to do multiple things on it.”

This class teaches the students how to use a camera and how to do specific types of photography. For example, Tiffany Tingler states, “A skill I have learned that I think will be helpful in the future is the different types of photography we have practiced. We have created illusions and have practiced different angles, and being able to have that knowledge with a camera is always nice.”

WLFK also has a Tik Tok account that they use to get any announcements out or they even just use it for funny videos to make people laugh. They have made hilarious content and made it a fun way to get information out to students, parents, and staff. Mr. Jackson states, “I asked the class and their response to the funniest thing that happened during filming was a TikTok they filmed for a joke of the day.”
