Mrs. Martin is a cooking teacher that teaches grades nine through twelve. She offers different classes depending on the semester. In the fall she offers (Foods for Life, World Foods, Cooking Basics, Skills for Success). In the spring semester Mrs. Martin offers (American Foods, Food & Fitness, Baking & Pastry Arts, Greenhouse to Garden). Mrs. Martin has been a cooking teacher for ten years and used to teach at West Branch Middle and High school. She believes that every dish should have some sort of seasonal ingredients and things that are cost effective. She likes to allow the students to control some of the content of the labs so they stay interested and hopefully will prepare the recipes again at home. She also offers different labs in class like Safety & Sanitation, Knife Skills, and sometimes plating techniques.
Mrs. Martin stated, “I truly have the best job in the world! I love coming to school and sharing my appreciation of life skills and love of cooking with high school students. It is so fun and honestly, very gratifying.”
