Board of Education Meeting September 2016

On September 15, 2016 at the Middle School/High School Building there was a meeting for the Board of Education. The meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. Board members include President Mitch Mascioli, Vice-President Michele Catania, Kim Pittman, Tom Huff and Todd Jones.

The Treasurer, Mr. Zinger, encouraged the Board to accept the 2016-2017 proposed Admission fee for sports events, formal events, and pay range for the Ticket Taker/ Money Taker at sports games.

Mr. Zinger also upheld that the Board approve the Substitute Pay Rates for the 2016-2017 school year.

Third, the Treasurer advocated that the Board  accept a 12-month agreement between Jackson-Milton Local School District and American Fidelity Services to cater consulting, time, and ACA Reporting Services with respect to employee benefit plans sponsored by Jackson-Milton Local Schools.

September 12, 2016 Mr. John Zinger and Mrs. Sue Moore attended the Columbiana County Career Center for an EMIS meeting.

Mrs. Melissa Roberts and Mrs. Shari Jones attended the School Food Conference in Leavittsburg, Ohio and Boardman, Ohio on August 2, 2016 and August 11, 2016.  

It is endorsed that the hourly wage for Title I tutors is approved for 2016-2017.

Also, appointment to an extra-curricular contract is approved pending CPR, Pupil Activity Certifications, National Federation Coaching Courses, and BCI and FBI background checks, which are required.

Lastly, the Jackson-Milton HS/MS will use the Cafetorium for the school play May 11-13, 2017, from 7-10p.m. and the practices on March 13- May 10, 2017.
