The Lady Jays season ended 2.24.26 when they fell short to Cuyahoga Heights with a final score of 36-32. In the first round of tournaments, the Lady Jays beat Cardinal with a final score of 49-42. The Jays had a fought hard season and worked hard on and off of the court. The season was memorable for the lady jays basketball team. The lady jays worked hard all season to improve their skills, build teamwork, and represent their school. Throughout the season, the lady jays faced tough competition, but never gave up. Their communication, hustle, and positive attitude helped them compete in every game. The fans always brought the energy in support of the girls to the max. The coaches played a big role in this year’s season. Long bus rides and practices brought the girls closer together throughout the season. Every practice pushed the girls to grow stronger and gain confidence on and off the court. Either it was a win, or a lose, the girls always stuck together as a team and stayed focused. The girls formed strong friendships throughout the season making memories that will last a lifetime.

The Jackson Milton Lady Jays started off the season with an opener at home. They played Sebring and started the season off with a win, then the Lady Jays fought hard against their rivals, the Western Reserve Blue Devils, but unfortunately they got cut short. The lady Jays had a good hard fought season. The Lady Jays are led by head coach, Dan Turner, and assisted by Coach Kaneesha Tensley. Their team consists of 1 senior, 6 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 2 freshmen. With the hard leadership and teaching, the young athletes are excited to start. They closed out the season with a record of 12-4 in the MVAC Scarlet conference, 3rd overall! They start tournament play next week!
The captains are juniors, Amani Yasin and Emma Johns. They did a good job at keeping the team calm during the games and keeping them motivated throughout the season. The coaches pushed hard to keep their energy up and to help the team. As for next year, the season will start in June 2026 training during summer league. Not only does their leadership and hard work help the team, but so does the dedication from all athletes. The team worked hard during practices and throughout the season. The team has improved tremendously since the start of the season. They lead an example on and off the court to younger girls who look up to them. The Lady Jays move the ball well up and down the court to get a good shot. Either they are celebrating a win, or pushing through a tough loss, they are still teammates and will always share this bond with each other.
Coach Turner stated, “Every school thought Jackson-Milton was going to be an easy win, until they played us and realized we were competition.”
Coach Tensley stated, “Us as coaches, it’s our responsibility to challenge you to make you better.”
Amani stated, “I think this season went really well and we worked really hard during practices and games.”
Emma said, “Our coaches really helped us this year and pushed us to work hard during practice.”
