The JM early work release program is organized and advised by Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Wiery. Some of requirements to stay in work release include: students have to put it on their schedule, they must have a job of ten hours or more a week, they must not be absent more than four unexcused times in a grade period, they must pass all scheduled JM classes, submit weekly pay stubs, and complete a journal regarding their work experiences. This is an option for the senior class only and only if they meet the standards.
Dylan Hovanec said, “The hardest part about work release for me is making sure that I can balance my school and work.”
Mrs. Wiery said, “The most difficult part of the program is rounding up my student paperwork.”
Sophia Huzyak said, “The hardest part about being in work release is staying motivated to work multiple days a week to meet the required hours. It’s also making sure you’re getting scheduled those required hours as well.”
Joshua Cameron said, “It is important that you work hard enough to be able to fill out the journal and work the right amount of time you need to meet the requirements.”
If this seems like a program you would be interested in utilizing your senior year, be sure to discuss it with Mrs. Wiery before scheduling!
