Which is better? 15 basic tasks were compared,

see how they rank.

  • Login iPhone wins the first: iPhone’s touch ID fingerprint sensor helps bypassing the annoying lock screen. Some Android phones have a similar feature. Other phones have a “Smart Lock” tool that uses face recognition or location to bypass the lock screen, but it’s not a secure option.
  • Make a Call iPhone wins again: Your favorite contacts are laid out much better in Android, smartly laid out according to the people you call the most frequently, but iPhone’s facetime is the killer feature.
  • Check the time Android wins: Both Android and iPhone show you the time when you press the lock button, but many Android phones do time keeping better. Motorola, Samsung and HTC have smart covers and sensors that automatically show you the time when you pull your phone out of your pocket. Android also has a super-dim “daydream” clock that stays on when charging on your nightstand.
  • Photo/ video storage Android wins again: Managing photos is much better and a cheaper experience on Android. Google photos gives you unlimited free storage compared to Apple’s icloud.
  • Type Android wins: Android’s stock keyboard is better than Apple’s because it includes swipe gestures, and punctuation on the same screen as the letters.
  • Use apps Android wins again: Android’s way of organizing apps surpasses the way that iPhones do. They let you put important stuff on the home screens and hide less useful apps in the app drawer. Also, Android’s widgets are much more useful than Apple’s.

  • Notifications Android wins: Android lets you see what notifications are priority already sending them to the top of the list (and minimizing less important messages). Its also easier to clear Android messages.
  • Music/Podcasts iPhone wins: Android uses Google play music which offers a list of free ad supported music. Apple however, has apple music which has no free option but integrates well with iTunes downloads.
