The 2015 Jackson-Milton High School Band went to Orlando, FL from January 17 to January 23 to play in Disney Springs at Disneyland. The trip was open to all students in the band and choir and many fundraising event were offered throughout the year to help with the cost of the trip.  The 19-hour bus ride down there was not as bad as the ride coming home due to the snowstorm students were stuck in for a few hours on the highway. Orlando was a great experience for the students that have never been in Disney before. It was also a great experience for the students who knew their way around the Magic Kingdom.

The students had the chance to visit every park in Disney such as Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. The students observed the Illumination Show, Fantasmic, Symphony in the Stars, and a tour of Hollywood Studios.  The Band had played on Tuesday of their trip and it turned out to be a great success. The music that was played by Jackson-Milton was played over the entire Disney Springs which is what used to be referenced as Downtown Disney.  Students were able to enjoy rides, sights, and meals purchased with heir meal tickets each day of their trip.  They concluded the trip at Animal Kingdom and took advantage of a great photo opportunity in front of the Tree of Life.  The trip had a great turnout and everyone returned home safely. The choir students even had cookies and had a small “Welcome Home” party for the students in the band room.
