Movie Review: Creed

Sam Metts, Staff Writer

The movie review that has been the talk the season is the new “Creed” movie that is supposed to be the aftermath of Rocky Balboa. The summary of the movie is “Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky’s help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.”

This movie got a fantastic rating of 8.6 out of 10.

My thoughts on this movie was that it was a very good movie that tied into Rocky’s past life in his last 6 movies about his boxing career.   This career tied into this movie from him winning many different matches and learning from his trainer, Paulie. Also, the movie can be a tear jerker at some parts but also it will leave you on your toes the whole time wanting more and cheering on Adonis for his many different matches.
