Dana Saunders

Mother and Son dances are a typical way to build a bond and spend more time with one another. The mother and son sadie hawkins dance is a tradition for the Jackson Milton Elementary School kids. This year the third annual dance was held. Any boy student in grades kindergarten through fourth grade had the opportunity to attend the dance with their mother, aunts, stepmothers, grandmas, etc. Mrs. Reyes (sophomore history teacher) put together the event. The dance took place on friday March twenty third. The event started at six o’clock at night and continued on until nine o’clock. The dance was held at the Jackson Milton High School cafetorium. The theme for the event was a fiesta. The children and parents were served mexican food for the night. Such as rice, chips, queso, salsa, nachos, candy, juice, water, and desserts. Dancing was also common throughout the night, the mothers and sons could enjoy and dance to music. There were different games the kids could play throughout the day. Throughout the night there were also many competitions held for the kids to compete in. The cost consisted of thirty five dollars per couple attending the event. Plus an additional twenty dollars for any additional child. The mother and son(s) would get a picture together to take home for that is included in the cost.
