As the school year winds down and the fall and winter sports come to an end, spring sports begin. Some of the spring sports offered to Jackson-Milton students include track, baseball and softball. The track team is coached by three Jackson-Milton teachers who are, Mr. Mohr, Mr. Brode, and Miss Malmfeldt.

The track team consist of sprinters, distance runners and field events. They will have their first track meet March 27th, 2018 at Jackson Milton’s track located right outside beside the High School. There are 5 senior boys on the track team along with 5 senior girls. Track is a very long season that requires full dedication. Practices are held at the high school 5 times a week after school, for some runners they even run during the weekend.

Returning state placer Michaelina Terranova says, “I am excited for my senior year of track! I hope to return back to state and that we all compete the best we can and hopefully have more athletes from the team go to state this season as well.”

The athletes practice and race in weather conditions like snow, rain and heat but they always find a way to have a good time while doing so. The track team has always been a strong sport at Jackson-Milton and it will continue to be as time goes on. Good luck to the track team this season, go Blue Jays!
