Arnold Classic motivates current JM athletes

Tyler Phillips, Staff Writer

This year’s Arnold Classic was a 3-day event that was held at the Columbus Convention Center with an admission fee of $15. The Arnold Classic is a huge power lifting, dieting and fitness show were vendors around the world come together at the Convention Center and sell or advertise their product.

There were so many popular lifters and bodybuilders there such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Triple H and The Mountain and Eddie Hall. The hundreds of different sponsors that are set up at the Convention Center are there to give samples of their product or to explain how their product can help athletes with what they are trying to do with their body or muscles.

There were seven students that went to the 2016 Arnold Classic. Those students were Tyler Phillips, Adam Smith, Martin Mckinney Jr., Mike Assion, Brett Lewis, Nick Scarl and Steven Yuhasz. They carpooled to Columbus and  each student received about $200 worth of samples from the vendors.

The students personally want to go back next year after having such a good experience, they were inspired by the fitness many of the attendees displayed.  Marty states, “Hopefully we can get to go for all 3 days next year and get 3 times as much stuff.”

Therefore, the Arnold Classic was a success for these young athletes.
