Anthony Italiano played football at J.M for all four years of high school, both years in middle school and two years in elementary school. Anthony has always loved football both for the sport and the bond that comes with it. Anthony will be continuing his football career at Hiram College starting in the fall of 2016. Anthony was called in the winter to be recruited as the middle linebacker for the Hiram football team. Anthony will be receiving a total of $152,028 for playing football at the Division 3 level.

Anthony said, “I am choosing to go to Hiram because of the people. When I met the team, they were really accepting of me and my football aspirations. They really made Hiram feel like home to me.”

Anthony made the point about how excited he is to play because he feels like he has a really good chance to compete. Anthony stayed overnight at Hiram several times and on his third visit he decided that this was the best fit for him. Anthony’s stated his favorite part of Hiram College was, “The dorms were really nice, the food was amazing, and the chocolate milk is delicious.”

Anthony spoke about how proud his parents are of him and told the story of how his mom started to cry at his final recruitment dinner. Anthony said it all started to become so real to him when he saw his football jersey sitting on the table at his last recruitment dinner.

Anthony will be majoring in Computer Science and later plans on attending law school. “The coach at Hiram is really excited for me to play and sees a lot of potential in me for the next four years as both a student and a football player,” said Anthony.

Anthony will move into Hiram August 13th 2016, and will then start practices and then games.

“I will always be a Blue Jay in my heart and I’m thankful for all that Coach Assion and my teammates taught me about myself and the game,” said Anthony.

Anthony would like to thank his parents for supporting his dreams and for giving him the chance to play college football. Go Terriers!
