This year, Jackson-Milton has a new math teacher, Miss Lynn. She had originally come from Austintown, where she graduated from. Miss Lynn chose to be a math teacher because she always wanted to be a teacher. Also, knowing her sister used to teach math, she wanted to follow her footsteps. So, she did.
Miss Lynn quotes, “I want my students to walk out of the school year feeling confident and I hope my students will get a higher depth of knowledge in math.” This shows Miss. Lynn cares about her students learning and how she wants them to be able to understand her teachings.
With this being Miss Lynn’s first year at Jackson-Milton, she loves how our school is smaller and how kind everyone has been to her.
Miss Lynn stated, “ I expect a few good things from good students. I believe that a good student should be respectful, and it is not always about getting the highest grades, there is other stuff put into being a good student.” Moreover, Miss Lynn doesn’t believe that grades are not the only thing that matters, there is other factors being put into it. Like, the respect and behavior of the students.
Also, Miss Lynn said, “Good students ask questions when they’re confused and will not just sit there silently while they don’t know about the topic.” Miss Lynn’s quote shows how she doesn’t want her students to suffer when they need help or don’t understand something. Mainly, because she wants them to pass their tests and not feel like they can’t ask for help.
Amelia Lard stated, “I like how she teaches, she is nice, I feel safe in her classroom.” This shows that Miss Lynn takes care of the students in her classroom and cares about their safety.
Another student, Abby Hochendoner said, “She is always being really funny, and she is very friendly.”
To sum up, Miss Lynn makes the class fun and treats all her students with kindness and JM is happy to have her here.
