The 2022 cross country season was led by the head high school coach Kayla Morrsion and middle school coach Joe Kolenick. The team kicks off conditioning in early July for the first cross country meet at the end of August. The season goes from July to late October. This year’s seniors were Jonathan Lanham and Kalliope Ivari. Both high school teams run at D3 Districts at Glen Oak High School, but few can make it out of districts to regionals. Three runners including Lucas Sokol, Faith Sullivan, and Serenity Perrine had the opportunity to run at D3 Regionals at Boardman’s Spartan Race. Sophomore and regional qualifier Lucas Sokol had a PR of 17:15. Junior and regional qualifier Faith Sullivan had a PR of 21:21. Junior and regional qualifier Serenity Perrine had a PR of 22:09. Senior Jonathan Lanham had a career PR of 21:15. Senior Kalliope Ivari had a career PR of 23:49 at the Jackson-Milton home meet. Coach Morrison, sums the season up, “This season the cross country team made huge growth and worked their way towards reaching their goals by the end of the season. We had a season filled with top finishes, new personal records, and fun! Congratulations on everything that was accomplished this fall, I’m so proud of each and every runner!”
