2023 JM Golf takes a swing at Districts!

The Blue Jays Boys Golf Team finished 4th at the MVAC Golf League Championship held at Salem Hills Golf Course. The team shot a 373 for the 18 hole round. Junior, Hunter Schertzer, led the Blue Jays finishing with a round of 86. Hunter, was also selected to 2nd team all MVAC . Junior, Ryen Romigh finished with a round of 93 and was selected MVAC Honorable Mention. Sophomore, Colton Elliott finished with a round of 96 and was selected MVAC Honorable Mention. Also scoring for the Blue Jays was Freshman, Blake Hochendoner with a 99, and Sophomore, Jackson Horner with a 103.

Junior, Ryen Romigh, competed at the OHSAA district golf tournament held at Tannenhauf Golf Course. After completing his 18 hole round, Ryen finished with a score of 87, just missing the cut for state by 6 stokes. This is a tremendous accomplishment in having to compete against 60 of the best D3 golfers in Northeast Ohio. Ryen had a great season continuing to work hard, improve his golf game, and striving to reach his goals.

The Boys Golf Team competed at their OHSAA sectional tournament at Riverview Golf Course. The team competed against 18 other division 3 golf teams, in a very competitive D3 sectional tournament. Only the 3 lowest scoring teams and 3 lowest scoring individuals advanced to the OHSAA district tournament.After the dust settled, Ryen Romigh finished with the 3rd lowest individual score, advancing himself to the district tournament. This is the first time in 4 years the Jackson-Milton golf team has had an individual or team qualify for the district tournament.’

Senior, Faith Sullivan competed at the OHSAA division 2 girls golf sectional, held at The Pines Golf Club in Orville. Faith completed her 18 hole round with an 18 hole round of 120. Faith continued to work hard all season. Faith had a great season improving her average and bettering her golf game.

After finishing their 18 hole round the team had some great scores. The team was lead by Junior, Ryen Romigh who finished his 18 hole round with a PR score of 77 and Junior, Hunter Schertzer who finished his round with an 82. The team was also helped by Sophomore, Colton Elliott shooting a 90, Freshman, Blake Hochendoner shooting a 95, and Sophomore Jackson Horner shooting a 97. The Blue Jays finished with their best total team score of the season (344) finishing in 7th place as a team.

Regular Season Highlights:

The Blue Jays faced off against Warren Harding at Trumbull Country Club. The Blue Jays had great team and individual play to earn a win in their final regular season match of year. Hunter Schertzer was the match medalest shooting a 39 (PR), followed by Colton Elliott (46), and Ryen Romigh (47). The Blue Jays will compete in their OHSAA sectional tournment on Wednesday, September 27th at Riverview Golf Course. The Blue Jays are set to tee off at 10:00 am. Complete scores are listed below:

The Blue Jays faced off against Sebring at Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course. The Blue Jays had great team and individual play, including mutiple season PR’s, to ear another legaue win. The Blue Jays look to continue their success in their final league match of the season, and senior night, on Monday, September 18th. The match will be played at Olde Dutch Mill VS Mineral Ridge beginning at 4:00pm. Complete scores are listed below:

The Blue Jays faced off against Lowellville at Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course. The Blue Jays had some outstading individual and team play shooting an overall team PR of 173. The Blue Jays were lead by junior, Ryen Romigh Romigh, shooting a PR 39, followed by Hunter Schertzer and Colton Elliott, finishing with a round of 42. The Blue Jays look to continue their success today, when they play in a tri-match VS McDonald and Springfield at Mahoning Country Club. The match is set to tee off at 4:00 pm.
