OHSAA Softball tournaments began May 10th.  The #9 seeded Blue Jays had a first round bye.

The Lady Jays are 6-7 overall and 5-2 in the league.

The following have earned MVAC Honors for 2021: Riley Headley 1st Team Pitchers, Chelsea Williams 1st Team Infielders, Camryn Mitchell 1st Team Outfielders, Mia Greco 2nd Team Infielders, Macayle Thornhill Honorable Mention.

They earned a 25-15 win over Mineral Ridge, they were down early in the game 9-0 but made some adjustments.  Scorers included Camryn Mitchell, Ava Darney, Paige Grope, and Emily Fultz.  Chelsea Williams and Dana Saunders both tailed a homerun in the 7th.  Riley Headley started as pitcher and Macayle Thornhill came in to finish.

The Lady Jays also earned a big W against Springfield with a 7-5 victory.  Chelsea Williams earned a single, a double, and a triple.  Riley Headley also earned a triple and Mia Greco got on base with a perfect bunt.  Riley pitched for all 7 innings allowing 7 hits with 6 strikeouts.

Perhaps one of their most exciting wins of the season came when they bested Western Reserve 10-7, this is always an exciting match up and a a personal accomplishment for the Lady Jays!  As a team they had 12 hits, Riley Headley started on the mound, and Macayle Thornhill finished up on the mound.

The Lady Jays bested Crestview early on as well with Alena Len hitting a grand slam over left field to pull the team up to 13 runs.  Paige Grope pitched an excellent game with 4 strikeouts.  The final score of this game was 17-7.

The Lady Jays also won their home opener against Leetonia 19-9 and their first league game against Lowellville 3-2.
