The Jackson-Milton varsity boys basketball team is looking to improve even more throughout this upcoming season. The boys program is coached by Steve Procopio, Sam Procopio, JR Shripley, and Guliano Romeo.

The team is led with four returning seniors: Guy Costello, Taylor Kleinknecht, John French, and Mikey Zayas. Although John French is unable to play right now, he is hoping to be back in action for the second half of the season. The boys started out this season with a tough loss against United. The game was back and forth for much of the first half but United managed to pull away in the second half. On December 5 the team traveled to Lordstown for game 2. The Blue Jays battled hard the entire game, but the Devils pulled away in the final moments for a tough loss for the Blue Jays.

This past Saturday, December 8, the Jackson Milton Blue Jays had their home opener against Heartland Christian. The Blue Jays dominated the entire game protecting their home floor and ending with a win of 88-34.

The boys return to action on December 12 for a battle against the Springfield Tigers. Senior, Taylor Kleinknecht remarked on the hopes for this season when he said, “I believe that this team could go far in tournament play, especially with the remarkable talent we have this year. The key to accomplish this is to work hard and play as a team.” With the season only just beginning, the Blue Jays have plenty of time to accomplish their goals.
