The Jackson-Milton volleyball team is halfway through their season and are 3-4 in the league. With wins over Lowellville, Sebring, and Mineral Ridge the team is looking to increase their rank in the MVAC league.

The teams included in the league are Springfield, Lowellville, Waterloo, Mineral Ridge, Sebring, Western Reserve, and Jackson-Milton. While McDonald is also included in the MVAC league, they do not currently have a volleyball team participating this season.

The Bluejays are currently 3-10 for the season. In the Bluejays latest game they competed against Cardinal Mooney for a heartbreaking loss in the fifth game. Coach Craig says, “With only one returning starter from last seasons team, the Lady Jays find themselves young and feisty.” Having such a young varsity team has proved to be a challenge, but the Blue Jays are hoping to turn the season around.

On October 9 the Western Reserve Blue Devils and Jackson-Milton Blue Jays will go head to head in the Danielle Grimm Memorial Trophy Game. With the Blue Jays currently holding the trophy with a 3-1 victory last season, the team is hoping for a repeat. This game is hosted annually and is a memorial for Danielle Grimm, who passed away after a two-year battle with bone cancer. The team who wins takes home the trophy and will compete for it again the following year. Along with the game there is a basket raffle. Many people, teams, and businesses donate baskets to the cause. This is an event that both teams look forward to every year.
