Blue Jays Football in new league

The Blue Jays football team has some very high expectations this year considering the past two back to back playoff appearances. The last two seasons the Blue Jays finished the season with a 7-4 record, this year they are off to a 2-3 start on their record.

Jackson-Milton is no longer in the ITCL league. The new league that they have joined is called The Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference (MVAC). This new conference includes the Jackson-Milton Blue Jays, Lowellville Rockets, McDonald Blue Devils, Mineral Ridge Rams, Sebring Trojans, Springfield Tigers, Waterloo Vikings, and Western Reserve Blue Devils.

The Blue Jays are 1-1 in their league conference looking to advance that record to 2-1 while playing against McDonald High School this week.

“The team is looking good and feeling good also, I think they are ready for the battle,” says Captain Nick Scarl.

Senior captain John French also had some positive words about the team by saying, “They are looking good. They know the challenge at hand right now and they are willing to take it on.”

The Blue Jays have been off to a bumpy start with losing three straight games after the season opener against Southington Chalker. But with the new win added to the Blue yays record they are looking and feeling better than ever.

The Jays dominated Sebring with a 53-8 victory.
