Springtime means birds chirping, flowers blooming, and PROM dress shopping!

Sam Metts, Staff Writer

Spring is almost around the corner and most people think of baseball season, track season, softball season, spring break, but most girls think about Prom Season. There are so many different kinds of prom dress designs, colors, prom dress stores, and different ways to ask someone to go to the dance with them.

Prom is usually held in the first or second Saturday in May. When buying the perfect dress most girls head out around the February, early April.  The dress code when you are participating in this event for girls is a formal gown/dress/skirt/pant suit. And for boys it is tuxedo or suit and tie/sports coat with tie and dress slacks. It is NOT acceptable to wear  athletic tops, or tank tops, any form of blue jeans, shorts, and facial piercings to the prom.

Prom dresses can be in many different styles but also can become very pricey depending on which dress you pick. Dresses could start from the 90 dollars to almost as much as 500 dollars.

The different styles are mermaid, two piece (which is a new style this year), ball gown, and also a fitted evening gown.

Courtney Macphee said, “Prom is an exciting time and I always love going shopping with my mom because I never know what I have in mind to get and it so much fun to bond over that.”

Now, a male point of view is always a bit different on the prom night experience. Tyler Phillips chuckled when he said he was looking forward to, “Dancing. Good Food. Fun after prom activities.”

Make sure you follow the dress code, fill out your guest forms, buy your tickets, have fun and be safe!
