The Lady Blue Jays 2025 softball season was fabulous. Ending the season with a 7-5 conference record the Lady Jays were a force to be reckoned with. Senior Grace Johns was an all-star behind the plate as catcher and led the team throughout the season. The team earned a collective 0.381 batting average, 0.897 fielding percentage and hit a total of 12 home runs! The girls worked hard all winter and it paid off in the spring when the team went all the way to the district semi-finals. After an impressive 16-6 sectional win on May 14th, the girls fell to Ashtabula St. Johns 10-5 on May 19th. Although the loss was disappointing, Coach Halavick still stated, “This season was a blast and I’m thankful for the family we’ve created.” The girls look forward to more successful seasons to come!
“This season wasn’t just about the games—it was about the laughs, the long bus rides, and the team that felt more like family. We didn’t end the way we hoped, but I wouldn’t have traded a single moment with these girls. I am proud of everything we built together” -Grace Johns.
“This was such an unforgettable experience with an amazing team of hilarious and talented players. I will never forget how they welcomed me onto their team and made me feel like I was a part of the Blue-Jay family.” -Katie Byers.
“Trophies collect dust while memories last forever. This team won’t ever remember the wins and losses the same way they’ll remember the people they played their hearts out with.” – Coach Mike Johns
