On December 18, 2025 the Jackson-Milton High School Band is excited to announce its successful Winter Concert this year. This event portrayed performances from both the high school and middle school bands.
The band director Nicholas Penfound states his experience about the concert saying, “The bands did great this year! I don’t like to judge whether a band is better from one year to the next, however, there were some noticeable differences this year. The sixth and seventh grade bands both played more repertoire than they have in the past for the Holiday concert. The sixth grade students played more complicated rhythms and more notes than they have played in the past. The Concert Winds performed a piece that was the most difficult they have ever played, and they played it the best they have ever played it. We are looking forward to the younger students joining the Concert Winds and seeing the effect they have on the ensemble in the next few years.”
His statements underscore the amazing progress the middle and high school band has made this year. Both bands practiced with enthusiasm and hard working progress.
Freshman Arianna Gibbs shared her opinion on how much she believes that both bands worked hard on performing and determination by saying, “Both bands worked very hard this year trying to perfect even the smallest things, and I believe that with dedication and determination, we can achieve anything, even the impossible. It wasn’t just about playing music with random people, it was about coming together as a family and helping everyone achieve their goals.” She states how much she believes that with just a little dedication and determination everything is possible when working together not as a group of friends but as a family.
Every grade worked together to create beautiful music to celebrate the upcoming holiday season. With an exciting program now making history, the Jackson Milton High School and Middle School Band looks forward to another year with more talent, celebration, and becoming a second family marking the highlight of the winter concert performed this school year.
