The SADD club organizes many activities throughout the year, and here are two memorable ones that they held during Christmas week before the winter break! The first is caroling, which some members of SADD described as a very cool and heartwarming experience. The event was a delight for both the preschoolers and the SADD members. The group dressed up as Santa and his Elves, bringing joy to the kids while also participating in fun activities. They made cookies together, which was both an enjoyable and messy experience! Along with baking, they sang many cheerful songs with the kids.
The members shared how funny and adorable it was to see the reactions of the preschoolers. Some of the kids had wide-eyed expressions, as if to say, “Who are all these people that just showed up with Santa and are now making cookies with us?” Their reactions to everything, from the songs to the baking, were priceless. They sang holiday classics like Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and even listened as the kids performed a special song for them. This experience was truly unforgettable for everyone involved.
Every year, SADD brings something different to make these activities unique and fun. Spending time with the kids, asking them about Christmas, their favorite traditions, and what they want from Santa was such a joyful experience. Another activity was “Ugly Christmas Sweater Day.” On this day, not only SADD members but everyone at Jackson-Milton High School joined in the fun by wearing the most hilariously ugly sweaters imaginable!
