The boys basketball team has a lot of things going on as the season is soon coming to an end. In basketball they practice many drills during their practices to help them get better. The coach of the team, Tom Sharp says, “The boys record is 5-7 but we have won 5-3 of our conference games. They boys improve everyday in their games and practices.”
This is showing that the coach is seeing the boys are improving through hard work and not giving up. A special recognition to Ryen Romigh who has broken a record and reached over 1,000 baskets in his high school career!
Tom Sharp also says, “The basketball team has gone through some games where they have lost by a lot but they continue to play hard.” This shows that they boys never give up even if they are losing. There are many players that are on the team including 18 players. The reason he had started coaching was because he really liked basketball and likes to coach.
Gavin Murphy says, “The person who made me get into basketball was my father. My biggest goal is to keep getting better. I started playing basketball at Jackson-Milton. I played basketball for 3 or 4 years. I like the sport because it is fun. When basketball first started I didn’t like it at first.”
The outcome of the trophy game was not as they had hoped but they worked hard and it was a close game.
Kobe Kacir says, “ What made me want to play basketball was watching it. My biggest goal in basketball is to keep working hard. I started playing basketball at Jackson-Milton. I like this sport because it helps you have more endurance for things. I started playing basketball about 3 years ago. When basketball first started I liked it a lot.”
The boys have set their sights on tournament play. While the season will be coming to a close, JM is proud of the hard work the boys have displayed this year.
