The 2024-2025 high school cheer team has competed in various competitions this winter. They have earned a place in the State competition this season for the third time! They will have a proper sendoff on Friday. The team has traveled from Ohio to Pennsylvania to advance their skills and strengthen their scores. The competition team performs a game day routine that intends to lead the crowd and boost school spirit. The girls have competed against division 1, 2, and 3 teams while keeping their 3-0 record. The girls have traveled to Girard High School, Warren High School, and the Thiel College Classic.
Coach Holly exclaims that she is seeing the team’s hard work pay off everyday! The gameday team will continue their season with a competition at mount union with goals to take grand champion and first place in the gameday category. The cheer team has goals to qualify for state at the regional level in February.
Junior Abby Bueno states, “This season has been challenging, but it has taught us that we are tough and capable of accomplishing big things this year!”
After this, the team looks forward to giving it their all in the state competition for the goal to win in the gameday category. They plan to showcase this performance at the upcoming trophy came pep rally during school to demonstrate what they have been working on this season. Coach Chloe states that she is excited to see where this season takes us. The Gameday routine consists of 8 girls; Caitlyn Carnes, Abigail Bueno, Peyton Ford, Arianna Lehman, Gabriella Price, Natalya Romero, Addison Ferenczy, and Skyler Zerucha.
These girls utilize megaphones, flags, signs, and pompoms throughout their routine to entice the crowd and judges. They start off the routine with a spirit engaging dance chanting, “Blue and White”. Then, they continue the routine with two cheers that include signs, megaphones, and flags. Lastly, the routine ends with the Jackson Milton fight song.
Sophomore Skyler Gaynor-Zerucha states, “I’m looking forward to state and regionals coming up soon.”
