This years team consists of Coach Mike Sheely, Girls- Nora Schwarten, Abigail Bueno, Addison Ferenczy, and Boys- Ryen Romigh, Alex Lipp, Nate Craver, Lucas Sokol, Ben Bacorn, Dylan Deville , Ethan Kerr, Landon Fortunato.
Jackson-Milton was not able to have a full girls team, but Nora Schwarten had a very strong season with her race at Regionals. Nora Schwarten finished 4th at the Northeast Ohio Glen Oak District tournament advancing to the Regional tournament where she ran a 29 second course personal best time and finished 25th.
The boys team was able to have a great season which ended at their district placement and great race at the regional level.
Abigail Bueno says, “The high school cross country team is a very motivated and driven group of athletes. All of which improved immensely this season.”
The cross country team has reached some big goals and set new standards for this upcoming season! Lucas is only the 2nd boy in Jackson-Milton history to qualify for the State meet multiple times as he is a 2X qualifier.
The Boys team finished 8th at the Spartan Invitational which is one of the largest meets in the entire state. This is an improvement from 9th place last year, and back-to-back years finishing inside the top 10. So it seems they have had a great season being that all nine returning runners (girls and boys) improved their personal best time by an average of 56.67 seconds. With a Range of 20-110 seconds.
Congratulations on a great season!
