Junior Brena McBeth said her fondest memory of the season was, “Beating Springfield because we didn’t beat them the first time we went against them and the second time we had to go to 5 sets and it was a tough battle and we have not beaten them in a few years. So the win felt even more since it has been so long since we have beaten them.”
Senior Grace Johns said, “Getting to be a hitter in the game against Sebring.”
Coach Craig said, “Beating Western Reserve and also beating Springfield. The JV had a successful record this year. And just being with the team all together has been a good experience.”
Abby Fishtorne said, “There were two different plays this year where the ball was getting kicked over the net. Which was by Grace and Emma. Beating reserve at home. Seeing the team doing the team bonding stuff.”
The season ended after the first round of tournaments, but they did go to 5 sets. They won the first one, second and third one, won the forth one, but then lost it in the fifth set at 13-15. So they didn’t make it to the secondary finals.
Congratulations on a great season, Lady Jays! Congratulations to Grace Johns earning YSN Defensive Player of the Year!
