The Jackson-Milton Blue Jay football team played a hard fought season this year varsity going 2-8 over all and 0-7 in conference. Junior varsity went 0-2, they did not having as many games as the varsity team.
Royce Green, a Freshman, who played line for JV and Varsity said, “Overall it was a good season, playing with Keegan White really made me realize how hard I can push myself. I really look up to Keegan and one day I hope I can match his skill!”
Many players said they pushed themselves because of Coach Cic. Coach reminded them consistently to work hard and push themselves to improve, “When you look in the mirror, and you look over your shoulder, you’ll see me!” The players stated he’ll always be right behind them supporting and cheering for them.
Hunter Johnson, a Freshman, who played for JV and Varsity stated, “We had lots of talented players and good coaching and Jack is an amazing quarterback. Sadly, we came up short this year, next year we’ll be better then ever!”
Many of the Blue Jays really do believe next year is the year for our football team. Coach Brode explains, “Younger kids getting lots experience, due to the lack of players, is going to work in our advantage. Having them on the field getting playing time is all it takes to get better. The most impactful players were definitely our seniors. Keegan was offence and most impactful on defense. Jase also put in overtime never coming off the field, being very strong on both offence and defense.”
Great effort this year Bluejays, we are already looking forward to next season!
