The world is diverse, different, unique, there is no person that is exactly the same as another, and with Autism Awareness Day and World Down Syndrome Awareness day, there is absolutely no better example of that!
April 2nd marks the Autism Awareness Day where we wear blue to show our acceptance and increase understanding of Autism in the world.
As Taylor Gates puts it, “It is important that we recognize people with certain unique differences and the support they get from others.”
Remember to wear blue that day to show love and support for people with Autism.
Also, Remember to wear your craziest socks on March 21st, Down Syndrome Awareness Day! Down Syndrome Awareness Day is a day to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, a congenital disorder that effects people with an extra 21st chromosome, which is why it is celebrated on March 21st, it is to represent Trisomy 21 which is the medical term for Down Syndrome.
It is important to have days like this so we can be more aware, more accepting, and more understanding of others. So remember to wear your bluest clothes, and your craziest socks to accept and show your love to the people who are different from you, especially now, because it is the 15th annual Autism Awareness Day this year!
Thank you to SADD and NHS for sponsoring these amazing days and making the world a better place.
