The Jackson-Milton Wrestling team started out the year with 17 wrestlers. The Jays had just one senior, Camron Lynn, who wrestled at 190. The team was coached by Head coach Brian Weidenthal and he was assisted by Coach Dave Tomaino, Coach Jason Spencer, and Coach Owen McDevitt. The Jays competed in many tournaments including The Division 3 classic in which they had 2 finalists and a champion from Lucas Sokol in 1st lace and Jack McDevitt, 2nd place. The Jays also had their home tournament in which they had 2 champions in Jack McDevitt and Jaden Scott and a runner up with Camron Lynn.
The Jays had the League tournament, also known as the EOWL, in which they had Lucas Sokol take 2nd, Brayden Greathouse take 6th and Caeden Perrine in 8th. The off-season began at Rootstown for the sectional tournament. They had an alternate in Owen Stanke in 5th place, and a 6th placer in Caeden Perrine. The Jays had 5 kids who qualified for the district tournament at Independence with Jayden Scott in 3rd, Jack McDevitt in 3rd, Brock Piatt in 4th, Lucas Sokol in 3rd and Brayden Greathouse in 4th place.
At districts at Independence they unfortunately had no placers with Brock Piatt and Jack McDevitt going 0-2 and Jayden Scott Lucas Sokol and Brayden Greathouse went 1-2. All of them will be back next year bigger and better! Congratulations on a great season Jays!
The Wrestling Team for the Jackson-Milton Blue Jays entered the season with 17 wrestlers which is an increase to the teams numbers last year. They have a wrestler at every weight class except for at 106 the lightest weight class. The team is coached by Brian Weidenthal Head coach, and David Tomaino Assistant coach And Owen McDevitt who was a state qualifier for the Blue Jays last year.
The Blue Jays were optimistic about their season this year after their impressive showing at the Riverside Invitational. It contained many Blue Jay wrestlers placed among many big school competitors. Jaden Scott placed 5th. Caden Allen placed 10th. Jack McDevitt placed 3rd. Caeden Perrine placed 4th. Brock Piatt placed 4th. Lucas Sokol placed 4th. Brayden Greathouse placed 3rd. Colton Lynn placed 6th.
The Blue Jays wrestled at the Division 3 Classic at Waterloo and had 2 finalists and 1 champion in Lucas Sokol. Jack took second place and Brock Piatt and Caeden Perrine took 5th. Jaden Scott took 3rd place.
The Jackson-Milton Blue Jay wrestling team hosted their home tournament and had two champions in Jayden Scott and Jack Mcdevitt at 120 (Jayden Scott) and 132(Jack Mcdevitt). They had a multitude of placers as well with Owen Stanke taking 5th place, Caeden Perrine taking 4th, Brock Piatt taking 5th, Lucas Sokol taking 6th, Brayden Greathouse taking 6th, Camron Lynn taking 2nd, and Cole Cappelli taking 4th.
