Starting off this season the team has 16 cheerleaders! 6 on varsity and 10 on JV. The junior varsity captain is Adison Ferenczy. The coach this year is Kathleen Lassiter.
“I was not expecting to have this many cheerleaders this year and I’m so excited about it!” said Coach Lassiter.
The seniors are excited for their final season. “This is my first and last time cheering for Jackson-Milton,” stated Faith Sullivan.
Their first event was at the Canfield Fair, performing a routine along with all of the other schools around this county. All together, including state, the cheerleaders have 7 competitions. The first comp was Sunday November 5th, (CTA Raider Extravaganza), second competition is Sunday December 3rd (Wildcat Rumble) third, Sunday January 14th (MAC Cheerleading Championships) fourth, Sunday February 4th (OASSA Regional Qualifier) Fifth, Sunday February 18th (NE Ohio Cheer Championships) sixth, Sunday February 25th (CCC Over The Rainbow) and then Saturday and Sunday March 2nd and 3rd OASSA State Championships (only applies if they win a bid to state championships).
One of the varsity cheerleaders, Payten Ford said, “I hope people actually come to our competitions this year!”
