Lady Jays Basketball Season

The Lady Jays basketball team started off very strong. The Lady Jays first game of the season was against United High school and the Lady Jays came out victorious in the end. It was a very tough battle but the Lady Jays fought hard until the end. The final score was 49-44. The leading scorers were Kylie Wilson with 21 points, Ava Darney with 12 points, and Carla Blancafort with 9 points.
The Lady Jays next game was against the Lady Lions. The Lady Jays came into the game all pumped up from their first game against United. The final score between Jackson Milton and Heartland Christian was 51-20. The leading scorers for the Lady Jays was Chelsea Williams with 18 points, Ava Darney with 16 points, and Kylie Wilson with 11 points. .
Their toughest battle of the season was against the Lady Warriors of Brookfield. The Lady Jays had a very slow start to the game, ending the first quarter down 17-7. The Jays started the second quarter on fire and cut the lead down to one. The game was very close and intense the rest of the game. It was a very “back and forth” game with the lead changing multiple times in the last 2 minutes. The Jays ended up falling to the Lady Warriors 48-46 but the Jays never gave up they fought hard the entire game.
The next opponent the Jays had to face was the Lady G-men. The Lady Jays were in for a tough battle against a very physical team. The Jays had a very slow start and were not able to fight back in the end. The Lady Jays were led by Kylie Wilson with 16 points and Ava Darney with 9 points.
On December 9, 2021 the Lady Jays had their first league game against the Lady Rams of Mineral Ridge. The Jays were in need of a big victory and they showed up ready to play. The Lady jays ended up winning the game 71-31. The Jays never took their foot off of the petal the entire game. The leading scorers were Kylie Wilson with 28 points, Ava Darney with 16 points, Chelsea Williams with 14 points, and Carla Blancafort with 14 points.
The Lady Jays basketball team traveled to Lowellville High School next to take on the Lady Rockets in the Jays second league game of the season. The Lady Jays defeated the Lady Rockets by a score of 45-42. The leading scorers for that conference game were Kylie Wilson with 17 points and Carla Blancanfort with 11 points.
The Lady Jays then traveled to Sebring to face the Lady Trojans. The Jays came out victorious by a score of 56-16. Leading the way in scoring was Kylie Wilson with 25 points and Ava Darney with 23 points.
The Jays next game was against Mcdonald and the Jays fell short by a score of 51-40. The Leading scorers were Kylie Wilson and Chelsea Williams with 15 points each and Ava Darney with 6 points.
The Lady Jays next opponent was the Boardman Spartans. The Jays played a tough Division 1 opponent and fell short by a final score of 55-42. Leading the Jays in scoring was Ava Darney with 17 points, Chelsea Williams with 12 points, and Kylie Wilson with 10 points.
The next game for the Lady Jays was a tough conference game against the undefeated Lady Tigers. The Jays ended up pulling out the win by a score of 64-60. They were led by Chelsea Williams with 24 points, Ava Darney with 16 points, and Kylie Wilson with 14 points.
Next up the Jays traveled to Western Reserve to face off with the Lady Blue Devils. The Lady Jays fell short of a victory by a score of 43-37. Leading the way for the Jays was Ava Darney with 14 points and Chelsea Williams with 12 points. The Lady Jays then were off to face the Lady Rams of Mineral Ridge. They won by a score of 46-39. The leading scorers were Kylie Wilson with 15 points,
