Cheerleading tryouts started in May 2021.  Eight varsity cheerleaders made the team:  Anthony Rentz, Callie Helminiak, Emma Burnside, Tessa Helminiak,  Abbigail Yavorsky, Kelsey Hamm, Maggie Simkins, and Malina Funes. 5 cheerleaders were selected to cheer on junior varsity: Alayna McCracken, Nella Strebler, Caty Carnes, Katie Sumter, and  Elyanna Cremeans.

The cheerleaders cheer on the football team on each week.  For away games, only varsity is able to attend. Home games both JV and varsity cheer. The cheerleaders decorated the locker room for the team’s first game and also made a run-through for their football games.

The team had competition tryouts in September. 8 members were selected to compete on the black team: Callie Helminiak, Emma Burnside, Tessa Helminiak,  Abbi Yavorsky, Kelsey Hamm, Maggie Simkins, Malina Funes, and  Alayna McCracken, and 13 were selected to compete on the blue team.

The cheer team had a clinic with the little cheerleaders and cheered with them at the last football game of the year. They then cheered with them on Sunday October 24 at the Pink Ribbon cheer competition. They performed a short dance where the cheerleaders showed off their talent. The seniors attended the senior ceremony where they were recognized for being a senior.  The team is gearing up for basketball season and competition season as well.
