JMMS Earns 2019 Momentum Award

Jackson-Milton Middle School is a 2019 Momentum Award recipient by the State Board of Education of Ohio.
According to the Ohio Department of Education’s website, “The Momentum Award is presented by the State Board of Education and recognizes schools for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year. Schools must earn straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which includes gifted, lowest 20% in achievement, and students with disabilities.”
“Congratulations to our staff and students. This honor is a perfect example of the dedicated staff and caring students that we have here in Blue Jay Country,” said Kirk Baker, Superintendent, Jackson-Milton Schools.
Only six schools in Mahoning County received the momentum award, including Jackson-Milton Middle School. This is the second year in a row, Jackson-Milton Middle School has received a Momentum Award.
