JM Boys Basketball Update

Boys Basketball team 2019-20

Courtney Mercer

This year the Boys Basketball program has worked long and hard hours as a team to come out and put on a show for the Jackson-Milton community.  This year the Jays have two seniors (Kent Gross and Ben Christopher) and 4 returning starters. One of the boys’ biggest wins this season was over the Western Reserve blue devils.  They jays traveled to Western reserve and took home the trophy this year winning 37-32.

Junior starter Frank Prozy comments about the game over at Western Reserve, he says, ¨After losing by one point the first game, we were hungry to get a win against them in the rematch.  We focused a lot at practice on our defense and shooting the ball and only thought about raising the trophy at the end of the game.¨

With only a few games left the Jays are beginning to prepare for tournaments as much as possible.

Senior Kent Gross says, “I’m looking forward to tournaments, I think we are going to do very well because we have been putting in the work and the time to accomplish our goals in the tournament.¨

Many in the community are looking forward to coming out and supporting the Jays as tournaments creep around the corner.

This Friday on Valentines Day the boys take on the Lowellville Rockets away. The varsity game kicks off around seven o’clock and junior varsity will start at 5:30. The boys hope to see the community to come out and support them as they get ready for tournaments.
