Senior night is a night to honor the seniors of each sport. All of these seniors are looked up to as leaders and are expected to take charge of their team inside and outside of their games and practices.

When asked how her senior night was, Megan Fultz’s reply was, “ It was a very emotional night for all of the seniors on the volleyball team. It was truly hard for all of us to believe that it would be our last time playing volleyball on our home court.” Quite obviously, this night meant a lot for Megan and her fellow senior volleyball players.

As goes for the football players, Joey Williams commented, “I haven’t played football all four years of high school, but to know that on senior night it would be the last time I ever played on that field was tough for me. I’ve made a lot of relationships on this team and the sport was hard to say goodbye to.”

These quotes go to show that on senior night, for the players, it is a big and emotional night for all of them.

Not only is this a big night for the seniors themselves, but for the fellow teammates and community members that are involved in the programs as well.

For instance, Junior volleyball player  Camryn Mitchell commented, “It’s definitely mind blowing how fast the time goes. Even though they’re in the grade above us, these are the girls that we grew up with. I was very emotional writing Megan’s senior night speech for her.”

It’s truly satisfying to see relationships built between student athletes through their sports. There were a handful of senior girls who took time out of their week to make signs for each individual senior football player before the night of the game.

Senior Volleyball player Rena Costello comments, “ I had a really good time making the signs. It was nice to have a good send off for the boys.” It’s an amazing experience to see how the community is willing to come together on this event.  Good luck to each of the students and the rest of the seniors on a successful school year!
