The Jackson-Milton High School Wrestling team had a very successful year.  The Wrestlers fought hard all season, not giving up and giving it their all.

At Andover, Ohio the EOWL end of the year JV tournament took place. This tournament gives the Wrestlers one last chance to advance to OHSAA Sectionals if they qualify.  Coach Weidenthal stated, “This sport takes guts to commit to, you have to work hard if you want to succeed. I am proud of these boys for all their hard work and devotion to the team.”  In total 9 of our Jackson-Milton JV Wrestlers left EOWL with medals showing their victory from placing either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.

The Jackson-Milton Varsity Wrestlers headed to Rootstown to compete at the OHSAA Sectional Tournament. Finishing out this tournament, the team took 9th place out of 16 schools total with a ending score of 59 points.

Coach Weidenthal stated, “Austin Stanke is a hard worker, he’s showed us all how aggressive he can be with a little practice and hard work, this boy can go for what he wants.”  Sophomore Austin Stanke had finished in 3rd place advancing him to move onto OHSAA District Tournament.

At the end of the season, 3 of our Jackson-Milton Wrestlers got an EOWL recognition. These wrestlers were Austin Stanke, Ryan Staton, and Hughston Lockner.

Wrestler, Ryan Staton stated, “It feels great to know that even though I was injured this year and couldn’t end it how I wanted to, I still feel just as accomplished by being recognized for my effort.”

Congratulations to all the wrestlers this season for all the accomplishments and hard work put forward to this season.
