JM Blood Drive brings much needed donations
March 26, 2019
The American Red Cross comes to Jackson-Milton every year in the spring. This year they really needed our help, the community’s blood bank was at an all time low. Many JM students, teachers and people outside of the school gathered on February 25th 2019 to donate their blood.
JM student, Shane Davis, had this to say, “This is my second time donating, I like doing it because I know it’s going to a good cause and the people working with the Red Cross are really nice.”
The blood drive was organized by the student council adviser and art teacher, Miss Amendolara. Student Council President, Ashley Cameron, was asked about her experience, in which she replied, “I’m a comforter to the people donating and I enjoy helping calm them by talking to keep their mind off of the needle!”
This event, 25 people donated blood to the Red Cross. Another blood drive is expected to happen in May so be sure to donate!
