Robotics Club

Nicholas Dolak

Will robots take over the world one day? Probably, but until then we have Robotics Club. Robotics Club is one the most exciting clubs at Jackson-Milton High School. The reason why? The projects of course!

This year students in Robotics club will get to venture into many new opportunities. One of the most known projects include the LEGO builds. With these Legos, Mr. Mohr the advisor says it, “helps with creativity of everyone involved, and let’s us come up with some pretty exciting builds.” Clearly, creativity is a key part of being in robotics club.

Also, students that are in Robotics form friendships and bonds with people who share their same interests. Moreover, Junior Kent Gross claims, “I just have a lot of fun with everybody. I feel like we all work together well and Mr. Mohr is a great adviser too.” Obviously, the students are enjoying robotics as well.

Don’t fret, there’s even more to learn about robotics club.In addition to learning building skills, students in robotics club also learn CAD (Computer Aided Design) which enables the club members to make parts for their robots, and 3D print them to reality. How cool does that sound?

Furthermore, Kent Gross states, “The 3D printing is one of my all-time favorite parts about robotics. Just being able to make something yourself and watch it get manufactured is mind-blowing.” Undeniably, being able to have the privilege of 3D printing is one to be very grateful for.

Next, being able to bounce ideas off of each other is very helpful and prepares the students for the real world. Robotics Club adviser Mr. Mohr says, “I’ve had students come back to me and say how much robotics club has helped them. Even if you aren’t planning to go into these fields, it strengthens your team-building skills.”

Notably, the skills you learn in robotics club will be ones used for a lifetime. In conclusion, robotics club is a great program to be a part of, and comes highly recommended to all tech enthusiasts.
