Homecoming 2018
October 31, 2018
This year, on Saturday, October 13th, homecoming will be at the experimental farm in Canfield, directly across from the fairgrounds. One of the biggest questions asked every year is ‘What will the theme be?’ This years theme will be Day of the Dead, with sugar skulls being one of the main showcases.
Homecoming advisor, Ms Amendolara said about the new theme and location, “I am excited to have homecoming at a new location, with a fun theme ‘Day of the Dead’. It will allow for a new space for new ideas to decorate and host a fun dance for the students of JM.”
One of the great things about homecoming is being able to dress up for a night. Many girls wear short dresses, with guys wearing suits. For girls, they always enjoy getting their makeup and hair done, while guys are just there to have fun… and eat, of course. It’s always interesting to see who’s wearing what, and who’s going with who. Some people go with a group of friends, while others go with a date. When everything comes to fruition, this year’s homecoming will be one of the best.
Callie Helminiak said her favorite part is, “I’m excited to see what everyone is wearing to it. Oh and the dancing.”
Secondly, the floats are always themed and everyone looks forward to them!
Freshman VP, Maddi Osborne said regarding the freshman float, “We’re gonna do a graveyard theme. We thought it went well with the ‘Day of the Dead’ homecoming theme.”
It’ll surely be fun to see the finished product! Finally, the music is always a key part in all dances. Homecoming advisor, Ms. Amendolara says, “We also have a new DJ for the dance this year, which will be wonderful!” Without a doubt, the DJ’s are one of the most important parts of homecoming, and it’ll be interesting to see what the DJ plays!
