The Lady Jays softball season was a series of up and downs. The season started with a win but sadly ended with a loss. The season ended May 10th with a loss to McDonald. Throughout the season the Lady Jays battled and put up a good fight.

They pulled through with a total of 5 wins consisting of Western Reserve, Sebring, Liberty, and Chalker. The varsity team consisted of three seniors and 8 remaining players. The seniors were Maddelyn Hyland, Brooklyn Gallant, and Korie Gross.

However, the team held tough and bonded throughout the entire season. The team went on many excursions and friendships were formed. The girls practiced long and hard yet still came up just short of what they needed to compete during their season.

Sadly, the longtime running Coach Kelly Snowden-Abe announced that she will be resigning from coaching, as well as longtime assistant Coach Michael Ames. With the coaching position open the future coach of Lady Jays softball is unknown at the moment. However, the underclassmen will continue on the next season and the next.

Freshman Dana Saunders commented on the subject, “Overall, I believe that even though the record may not be ideal I believe that we still were the real winners. I have made friends for life during that season. Although everyone tried their hardest and we showed we were the better team on many occasions.”

Overall, The Lady Jays may have had a cloudy season they learned what a team should be.
