Pi Day Activities 3.14

Pi Day is a day that celebrates 3.14 on Wednesday March 14th. On Pi Day you can celebrate by using numbers in many activities, or you can simply eat some pie.

Mrs. Condon the 11th and 12th grade math teacher celebrates Pi Day by having many games for students to do. During the day there will be round foods, students can dress up to represent Pi Day. Students will be able to participate in a memorize the digits of Pi contest. They will also watch different videos on Pi day.

Mrs. Condon says, “Pi Day is one of my favorite holidays, we even celebrate it at home too!”

Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical numbers of Pi. During Pi Day people usually celebrate by eating pie and talking about the numbers in Pi. The number for Pi is 3.14159265359 but people normally only use the first three, 3.14 when using Pi in math. Pi is originally defined in the ratio of a circle circumference to its diameter. It now appears in a various number of formals in the mathematics and physics, it also now has a various of definitions. There are many different games that can be played for Pi Day, students can make different things for each number that is in Pi. They can do different homemade things like cookies, cakes, that are different sizes. Celebrating Pi Day is one of the days that not only math teachers enjoy, but also others who like numbers or just like pie.
