Preparing for College: Starting before graduation

Joseph Williams, Staff Writer

Many kids attending Jackson-Milton are getting ready for college. College is a important part of life, especially since you can get a degree and get into a job that you love. College has it’s ups and downs, one bad side is if you don’t get any scholarships, it could be very pricey. Some kids unfortunately may want to go to college, but sadly cannot afford it. It is very important to keep a good GPA, because you can get money and different scholarships from the colleges.

Some popular colleges around the area are Kent State, Youngstown State, Mount Union, and Akron. There are many other colleges all around the country. The divisions in college are Division 1, which has the most students, Division 2, which is a mid sized school, and Division 3 which is a smaller school.

Sierra Fife is attending college soon, she is a senior this year. She states, “I am very excited for my future, although I am undecided in my profession, I am very glad I get to continue my experience and become something great.” As you can see, Sierra is very ecstatic about continuing her education.

Emily Williams is also very excited about continuing her education. She explains, “I took college credit plus courses the past two years, to prepare for the courses I plan to take in college.”

Overall, college is very important and kids should research and plan ahead of time.
