Show Review: Stranger Things 2

Logan Grunder, Staff Writer

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still scared from the horrors of the demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived. The same characters are back, although there are a few exceptions. Max will be arriving into Hawkins with step-brother Billy (Dacre Montgomery). But apart from this, much about her character is shrouded in mystery. Max is described as having a “complicated history” and is “generally suspicious of those around her.”

Another new character is “Bob Newby” (Sean Astin). Think of Bob as a grown-up version of the Stranger Things kids: he’s a kind-hearted former nerd, who ended up running the Hawkins Radio Shack. Throughout the seasons he’s seen as Joyce Buyers’s love interest. Interfering with Joyce Buyers and Chief Jim Hopper’s sporadic romance.

The kids are back with Will and their world is getting back to normal. Or it seems that way. They become faced with an evil much bigger than they’ve ever known. With Eleven still nowhere to be found, the constant occurrence of Will’s “episodes,”  and Hawkins Lab under a new jurisdiction…the tension could be felt from miles away.

The Nancy Wolfhard, Jonathan Buyers, And Steve Harrington love triangle lives on throughout season two. As Jonathan and Nancy become closer, Steve becomes closer with the kids, looking out for them and helping them with their ongoing investigation.

Created by the Duffer Brothers, “Stranger things 2”  is a great sequel to the first season. It contains a lot of mystery, action, and just the right amount of romance.
