Students working on a project during class

Jackson-Milton local school district brought on a new class into the 2017-2018 school year. This year Mr. Mohr is in charge of creative entrepreneurship, also known as Fish Bowl Graphics. He is teaching students leadership and responsibility by having them operate their own business out of Jackson-Milton High School.

They are taught how to make business plans, meet deadlines, and operate a functioning business. They have had several small jobs that have been completed and each job the quality of the work is increased. They have done job orders of banners and other things such as t-shirts or hoodies.

Teacher Mrs. Morelli ordered hoodies for the yearbook students. She said, “I think they’re great and I love how they turned out!  The sweatshirts are great quality and the kids love how colorful they are.”

The next project for the class is making t-shirts for the Jackson-Milton Elementary School Science Club.

All while they have to pump out different shirts and banners, the students remain professional and treat and maintain it like a regular business. They have to build a business plan to show them that if they ever want an investor in their company they have to have a successful business plan showcasing why their company is better and will have a stable income to keep it alive.

Sophomore Ryan Staton is a student of Fish Bowl Graphics and states, “We definitely got off to a rough start with our business here at Fishbowl Graphics, it was something new. After a few orders though we now seem to have everything under control and we are striving for greatness.”

Many of the other students feel the same way, with every order the students are learning more and more.  Fish Bowl Graphics is an exciting class and opportunity to experience the ins and outs of operating a business.
