CCP offers more choices to JM students
October 13, 2017
One of the growing Ohio education stories of 2017 includes the growing popularity of College Credit Plus classes. It starts in the halls of high school, there are a lot of different programs for high school students to participate in to prepare for college. Many argue that there is a need for more CCP classes to give kids more options and JM has taken steps to provide these opportunities to students. By researching the many possibilities, students will have a better understanding of what CCP classes have to offer and better understand their options of classes to take.
Many people have found that CCP classes can save time and money as well as provide a valuable experience. “College credit plus allows high school students to earn college credit and apply that credit towards their high school graduation requirements,” according to the Jackson-Milton High School web site.
With more College Credit classes available at JM, students have the opportunity to get a higher education and challenge themselves more academically. This program also includes preparing students for college by allowing them to experience the requirements of a college course in their high school setting. In the future, CCP classes will continue to provide more options for higher level students.
CCP classes allow students to take a course from a public college or university at no cost. Students can earn high school credits and college credits simultaneously when they take CCP classes. Taking CCP classes also looks great on college applications and can strengthen a student’s transcript.
