The freshmen and sophomores will be taking the “AIR” test in April and May.  These are state provided test to help students earn graduation credits based on performance.  The “AIR” tests are now being transitioned to being used instead of the “OGT” (Ohio Graduation Test).

The freshmen will be testing on April 3rd and 4th and May 3rd and 4th the sophomores will also be testing on April 10th, 11th, and 12th. The freshman will be testing in English, math, and reading. The sophomores will be testing in English, reading, math, science, and history.

The Language arts test is taken over 2 days for 2 hours each session.  The students will read selections, answer multi-part comprehension questions about each selection, and write a full essay each day.  Social studies and science tests are 90 minutes and consist of multiple choice and extended response questions.  The math test will take place over 2 days and each session is 90 minutes as well.

These tests help show the students academic achievements and where they stand as they learn. These testing sessions will help the students find out where they need to make improvements and where they are excelling.  The juniors will have to take a government test as well,  but if students are in the CCP government class those student will not have to take the test.

The seniors will be coming in late on the Language Arts testing days and leaving early on the math testing days.  The juniors will also be following this schedule on these days beside the government test day.
